The mother left the newborn in the mosque and ran away

A newborn baby has been rescued from an abandoned mosque in Sharjah Al Majaz, UAE. The child was found in the prayer room inside the mosque.

Gulf News reported this information in a report on Wednesday (April 3). Local officials said the child is African and was found by a mosque security guard. The security guard was going to pray when he heard the baby crying from the women's room. Then he quickly informed the Sharhaj police about this.

At that time a police patrol car and an ambulance went to the mosque and brought the child to Al Qasemi Hospital. After that, the police started a massive operation to find the child's mother.

A police official said the child would be given the necessary treatment first. If the mother is not found, she will be handed over to the Child Protection Committee. He said, “The hospital will provide necessary treatment to the child. Besides, he will be given other health tests and vaccinations. The child will then be handed over to the Child Protection Committee."

Police have not released any details on why or when the child was abandoned by his mother. There are many cases of newborns being dumped on the streets or other places. However, many people were surprised by such an incident inside the mosque.
