Iran is in a tough position, with fear of attack on Israel within 48 hours
Iran may launch an attack against occupying Israel in the next 24 to 48 hours. The Wall Street Journal, an influential US media outlet, reported the intelligence report of the United States on Friday (April 12).
On April 1, Israel launched a missile attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria. Seven people including two Iranian generals lost their lives in that attack.
After the attack on the consulate and the killing of the generals, Iran began preparing to launch a counter-attack. Since then, Israel has been on high alert to prevent Iranian attacks.
A US official told the Wall Street Journal that our intelligence sources say the Iranian attack will take place within days. Most likely directly on Israeli soil.
He also said that the attack could happen within 24 to 48 hours and that Israel is preparing to counter possible attacks in the south and north.
However, an Iranian source told the Wall Street Journal that they have not yet set a timeline for the attack and no official decision has been made.
An adviser to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said they sent a plan for the attack to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei earlier this week, Wall Street reported. It has multiple options. This includes direct attacks on Israel.
However, Khamenei has not made a final decision in this regard. In particular, he is thinking about direct attacks on Israel. He is afraid that if they attack Israel directly, then Israel can also attack Iran's important infrastructure.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant spoke yesterday with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin about Iran's possible attack. At that time, Austin promised Gallant that the United States would help Israel if Iran attacked.
Another US source said Iran would launch an attack on Israel that would not escalate tensions.
