China's cautious comments on Israel-Iran tension

China has made cautious comments on Israel and Iran tensions. On April 13, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel in retaliation. It was immediately condemned by leaders around the world, but not by China. But they called for restraint, to defuse tensions. This time China said - they believe that Iran can handle the situation well by protecting its sovereignty and dignity. Not only that. They are also able to avoid further tensions in the Middle East.

It should be noted that on April 1, Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria. The building was reduced to rubble. At least 7 people were killed including Quds Force senior commander Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

To take revenge, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel on April 13. Given this, China made that comment. This was reported by the news agency Reuters. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke on the phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahi on Monday. Abdullahi told Wang about Iran's position in this phone call. Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Tuesday that Wang said China appreciates Iran's firm stance on not targeting regional and neighbouring countries. Iran told Wang to limit its actions against Israel.

At the same time, Iran has said that this attack was carried out in self-defence. Wang said, China strongly condemns the attack on the Iranian embassy (consulate). They strongly oppose such activities. They consider this incident 'unacceptable'. Abdullahi told Wang that Iran is aware of regional tensions. Tehran is interested in practising moderation. Iran has no intention of further escalating tensions.
